Preston loved this trip! I think we pushed him to his limit though as he was pooped at the end of each day.
When we arrived we went to the Aquarium first. We started on the river side, and he ran all over every inch of that building. His fingerprints were on every piece of glass before we left. He had a ball! We then went next door to the ocean side. From the moment we walked through the door I knew we wouldn't be there long. He was ready to chill out and do his own thing. I don't think walking in a straight line is really his style so off we went to explore Chattanooga. We first ran down the hill next to the Aquarium together, and then wound up underneath the bridge. Not sure how we did that, but it was pretty cool. We took the winding staircase back up to the street level and in our exploring found the little fair trade store that I really wanted find while in town. Preston pitched a fit the entire time while in the store, but at least I was able to go in and check it all out. We walked around town trying to find Taco Mac to eat dinner. Of course Nate found a few beers he enjoyed. There is something about Taco Mac that makes Preston act crazy. It never fails and obviously doesn't matter what city we are in! After dinner we headed back to the hotel for some much needed rest.
Saturday morning we woke up at the crack of dawn, thanks to Preston, and headed out for some fun! We first hit the Incline Railway. Now I know the concept is really cool, but paying $28 (Preston was free luckily) to go up the mountain only to be dropped off at a gift store with nothing else to do was disappointing. Once we realized there was nowhere to go within a 1-mile range we hopped back on the railway and headed down the mountain. Needless to say we won't be making that stop again. We hopped back into the car and headed to Rock City. Now that was a really cool place and Preston loved it! We found out that Rocktoberfest was going on while we were there so of course we feasted on bratwurst, roasted potatoes with rosemary and really good beer. I think that was the best part for Nate. lol On the way out of Rock City we stopped by the gift store and found a pirate thermos for Preston. He carried it around his neck the rest of the trip. Very cute! Preston was ready for a nap so we headed back to the hotel for a pit stop. Luckily the Creative Discovery Museum was in the same block as our hotel so our next adventure was right outside our door. If you have never been you need to take the kids! It really is a fun place. Preston had a ball and followed everything the other kids were doing.
After we closed the Museum we headed out for dinner again. Now Preston is not the best when in a restaurant, which most kids aren't, but this time I couldn't have asked him to be any better. He was a perfect little gentleman at the table. He flirted with our waitress, ate his food and didn't scream once! It was the perfect way to end our day. Of course when we get back the hotel we are all pooped. Preston and I passed out while Nate watched football.
We were very sad to leave Chattanooga. It is a really cool town and we had a blast! Check out a few photos of our fun.
