Our old neighbors came to town a few weekends ago. It was great seeing everyone. Ava and Emily are getting so big. Preston had a blast with the girls. Nate and I enjoyed visiting with Mike and Krista. Below are some really cute photos from their visit.

Jack's 3rd Birthday

Saturday was Jack's 3rd birthday party. Caroline planned it at the Fire Station near Curt & Barbara's house. It was a great idea and the kids loved it. Jack was shy for some reason that day. Maybe it was all the attention. Preston on the other hand was a steamroller. He was a wild man from the start.

We started at Curt & Barbara's house for lunch before heading to the fire station. Preston was a little shy at first, but once Jack arrived he was running around the house with all the kids. He is still at the stage where he just picks up anything he sees. Well, he came into the kitchen with a very pretty bowl. I took it from him immediately. When Barbara entered I asked her about the bowl. She explained that it was her mothers. Whew!!! Saved a potential disaster with that one. Then Preston comes in with a whale figure on a pedestal. I noticed a few of these around her newly redecorated living room. I jumped up to get it from him as Barbara was trying herself. Preston held on for life saying "my turn, my turn". While it was very cute that understands turns, I realized that I had to get out of the house before he picks up something else. Luckily my sister finally arrived and we all went outside.

When we arrived at the Fire Station, Preston began acting up in the parking lot. I knew he was just excited, but I had no idea what was in store for me. He wouldn't stand with me and listen to the firemen speak. He wanted to go explore their office, and he did. He passed out the fire hats, pencils, and started on the stickers. I didn't want to have him screaming to the point that we had to leave the party so I let him play, but kept a very close eye on him. Needless to say I didn't hear a word of anything the firemen had to say. Luckily one of them put on his fire gear. That stopped Preston right in his tracks. He wouldn't go near him and wanted to be right by me the rest of the time. Where was he from the start? The Fire Station got an emergency call so we ended the visit with the fire trucks screaming out the parking lot. The kids loved that. Caroline couldn't have planned it better. We were sorry that we missed joining the party at the park. We had friends coming into town so we had to leave early.

Lucky for me it was a peaceful ride home as my little man passed out in the back.

New Bike

We bought Preston a new bike recently. He is so excited about riding a big boy bike. Of course he cannot quite touch the pedals yet, but he tries. Hopefully we can get him riding like a pro by the end of the summer. Check out his new ride!

Our Yardwork

Nate, Preston, and I hit Home Depot a few weeks ago to get mulch and new plants for our yard now that the weather is so nice. We pulled up a lot of plants out of the front beds and cleaned up all the ivy on the side of the house. Preston helped Nate clean out the planter surrounding the mailbox. He was pretty cute digging in the ground and pulling weeds. He didn't like to help for very long.

Preston loves to listen to the crickets at night. He and Nate sit by the window to hear them really well, or are outside to hear them. In doing the yard work Nate was able to pick up a cricket. Preston flipped out and wanted to hold it. Nate put it in Preston's hands, but it jumped onto his shirt and then into the yard. Preston then stalked the cricket down the hill of our front yard into the beds of mulch.

Nate was going to mow the lawn, but our mower was acting up so he put it in the garage to take a look at the problem. Preston wanted to help so badly! Nate put out a bucket for Preston to sit on, and the 2 of them worked on the lawnmower together. There are few pics of Preston on the bucket. That was adorable!!!
